The Martini Shot

THE MARTINI SHOT is a cover and original six-piece Pop-Rock Band based out of Southern Colorado.  Major influences of band are Barenaked Ladies, Reel Big Fish, and 311.  The Martini Shot has released three original projects including  their first self-titled album, "The Martini Shot," their sophomore album "Dry & Dirty," and the latest album, "Shakin' and Stirred."  The Martini Shot performs nearly every weekend throughout the year and was voted the "2009 Best Cover Band" and the "2006 Best Original and Cover Band" by readers of the Colorado Springs Independent.  They are staples at local clubs, festivals, and event series. The Martini Shot is also in high demand for weddings and private events.  The band was established in 2000 and most of the members are local music teachers.  The name, "Martini Shot," refers to the Hollywood slang term for the last shoot of the day.  The Martini Shot Bio


Andy Clementi - Lead Vocals/Guitar

Andy (AC) is a Pueblo native, performing since the age of 13. He has studied guitar under Paul Parker, Tom Munch, and John Gerlock. Andy has performed throughout Colorado for various festivals, fairs, and concerts. Andy is a graduate of Adams State College with a degree in music education and is the vocal music director at East High School in Pueblo. Andy has been known to draw even the most unwilling crowd to dance and sing along during a Martini Shot show.

Ryan Walter - Lead Guitar/Vocals

Ryan (Sizzle Pizzle) joined The Shot in 2001 after playing with a variety of local rock and jazz bands. He has been playing the guitar since the tender age of 9, and has recently received his Ph.D in Advanced Body Movin'(ABM). Siz graduated with a B.S. in Marketing Management from CSU-Pueblo in May 2006. Since the beginning, he has studied guitar under the BAMFA named Rick Greene (guitar extraordinaire). Influences include Dave Navarro, Rick Greene, Carlos Santana, Dimebag Darrell, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Jesus Christ, Tim Mahoney, and many other BA guitar players. Peace and Chicken Grease.

Like all good super heroes, Brook was found naked flying on an asteroid through space in the F clef nebula. Armed with sub-harmonic powers, The Martini Shot knew he would be a fine addition to their arsenal. When he is not holding down a smooth groove to make your body move, he can be found working his alter-ego job as a high school music teacher.

Greg is a Pueblo native and has played drums since the age of 9. His influences range from Neil Peart to Steve Gadd. Throughout the years, Greg has played  and recorded with various bands such as Southern Comfort, The Big Cat Band and Emilio Emilio. Greg also enjoys writing and performing his own music. He dedicates much of his time to his solo project (Sicosis) which he has released his debut CD performing drums, guitar, bass and vocals. Joining Martini Shot, Greg feels he has found his niche with the unique style of music the band has to offer.

Rob Smith - Sax/Keyboards/Vocals

Rob started playing sax and keys for the shot in '03. He is a graduate of Northern Colorado and currently teaches instrumental music at Freed Middle School in Pueblo, CO, his hometown. His favorite horn players are Joshua Redman, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garrett, Stan Getz, John Coltrane and Rob's Grandpa, John Carrillo. Rob began jammin' with many fine local musicians while in high school and went on to play in local favorites, Midnight Taxi, Big Cat Band, and Sam Man & the Apes.


 

Brian Person - Trumpet/Vocals

Brian (BP) was called up and joined the Shot in 2003. He spent most of his life in Palmer, Alaska, but came to Colorado for his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Adams State College in Alamosa. Brian currently performs as an enlisted solider with the 101st Army National Guard Band. He is in his 11th year of teaching as the Director of Bands in the Manitou Springs School District. Brian is also in the process of obtaining his private pilot license through Colorado HeliOps. Bri's favorites are: Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Barenaked Ladies, and Miles Davis.

Brian (BP) was called up and joined the Shot in 2003. Brian currently performs as an enlisted soldier with the 101st Army National Guard Band and is a member of the Fountain Creek Brass Band.  After having taught public school for 11 years as the Director of Bands in the Manitou Springs School District, he is currently pursing an aviation career with the Jeppesen Corporation. While not making music Brian enjoys flying helicopters and riding motorcycles throughout Colorado.  Bri's favorites are: Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Barenaked Ladies, and Miles Davis.
